I've always wanted to live in New York and when I was accepted into Cardozo School of Law I had the perfect opportunity. I'm moving from Eugene, Oregon to New York City in January 2010.

Easter Parade- Item #26

Happy Easter! Victoria and I went to the Easter Parade on 5th Ave today. Item #26 (be in a parade) is now officially crossed off my list!

We met in front of the Easter lilies in Rockefeller Center. I was a little late so Victoria had time to go get a cute hat!
The first place we saw was Saint Patrick's Cathedral
We got there just as mass was letting out. Great (coincidental) timing on our part!
Mass just wouldn't be complete without protestors. There were about 5 people with signs. These people have nothing on Eugene! (sorry about the bad photo)
The Easter Parade is all about the wacky hats.
U of O friends, doesn't he look like Professor Moffitt?

The front of the peep lady!
This woman was kind enough to pose for me since she saw I was trying to take her picture
Cute little family
Victoria and I are going to go traditional next year and dress like these people! Any guys willing to wear a top hat and tails?
Another cute family
Another cathedral. St. Thomas maybe?
This was one of my favorite hats
Creepy marionette. Maybe just creepy to adults because the kids were certainly interested.
I loved these hats as well!
Near the Plaza Hotel there was a dance performance going on. It is the Morris (Morse?) dance from England. One woman was playing the accordion and all the dancers had bells on their costumes.
I'm under the impression this woman just has a rocking horse costume lying around her house and was just waiting for an excuse to wear it.
When we were done parade wandering, we stopped near the Plaza to watch the dancers.
We ended our glorious Easter day at this French restaurant for brunch. I had delicious crepes filled with smoked salmon and a mimosa. All in all it was a lovely day.

  1. I appreciated your perspective in your Corporette comment this weekend! :) I can't imagine that that comment was by someone else named Jen who went to law school in the Pacific Northwest and is now getting her LLM in New York.

Glad you are having fun in NY! And yes, that fellow does look a bit like Moffitt.

  2. You are the second person who realized it was me! I just thought that girl should get advice on the other side of things. I always assumed though that if you wanted to do tax law that you got an LLM.
